Brooke rescued Mia in 2017 — or maybe she rescued Brooke. What she thought would be just giving a dog a second chance turned out to be the start of the most life-changing bond she's ever known. She walked (okay, bulldozed) her way into Brooke's heart and completely flipped her world for the better. Mia has been there through everything — the good days, the hard ones, the heartbreaks, the big moves, and now, the love of Brooke's life. She’s more than a dog. She’s her best friend, her constant, her home. Having Mia by John and Brooke's side on this day means everything.. She’s not just part of their story — she is a part of Brooke. And yes, she will be spoiled forever as she should be.

Jenna and Brooke met in 4th grade at a mutual friend’s house, and let’s just say Jenna made a strong first impression. Specifically, by getting a round brush so badly stuck in her hair that a parent had to intervene. Life took them in different directions for a while, as it often does. Then in 2012, fate (and bronzed ambition) reunited them at a tanning salon, of all places. They recognized each other immediately — a little older, slightly more sun-kissed, but still the same energy. Since then, Jenna has been one of the most loyal, hilarious, and ride-or-die people in Brooke’s life. From tangled hair to tanning beds to this wedding — Brooke couldn’t imagine this day without Jenna by her side.

Caitlin is not only Brooke’s sister-in-law but also one of the sweetest, kindest souls you’ll ever meet. Over the years, she has become an essential part of Brooke’s life. Caitlin has a heart of gold, endless patience, and, most impressively, the superhuman ability to put up with Brooke’s brother, Cody (a true talent in itself). Brooke feels beyond lucky to have her in the family.

Riddick isn't just a dog — he’s a whole personality. Originally from France, Riddick came into John’s life in 2019 as his K9 partner. They trained together, worked together, and built a bond that only comes from trusting each other with everything, day in and day out. Now retired, Riddick is enjoying the good life (which he has definitely earned), but he still carries himself like he’s on duty — constantly patrolling. He’s loyal, protective, and has a serious soft spot for anyone he considers part of the pack. Riddick has been part of John’s biggest moments and will proudly stand by John for one of the most meaningful ones yet. He may not be wearing a badge anymore, but he’ll always be part of the squad.

Mako has been with John since 2017, and from day one, he has been pure personality. He’s a German Shepherd by breed, but don’t let that fool you — Mako is convinced he’s a 12-pound lap dog with zero spatial awareness and an endless need for attention. Goofy, loyal, and always in the middle of whatever’s going on, Mako brings a whole lot of joy (and fur) into their lives. Whether he’s leaning his full weight on you for pets or doing zoomies like he’s in a race, he keeps them laughing every single day. He may not be the most graceful guest at the wedding, but he’s definitely one of the most loved.

John met Travis in 2019 during K9 school in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania. What started as two guys learning how to train dogs quickly turned into a solid friendship built on shared laughs, long days, and way too many conversations about dog poop. From bite suits to bad coffee, they’ve had each other’s backs ever since. Travis has been one of John’s closest friends — loyal, dependable, and always ready with a sarcastic comment or a cold beer. There’s no one else John would rather have standing by his side (besides the boys, of course).

John met Jason in 2017 when they were working together as cops in North Dakota. What started as a work partnership quickly turned into a friendship forged through long shifts, brutal winters, and more than a few ridiculous calls. Jason has seen John at his best and worst — usually in a patrol car at 2 a.m. — and has always been the kind of friend you can count on, no matter the situation. Whether it was backing each other up on the job or just giving each other hell off-duty, their bond has remained strong ever since.
